a new year post.2006 kind of flew past in a blink of the eye! and now it's a HAPPY NEW YEAR! welcome, 2007! (:
since everyone else is listing down all the key events for 2006, i shall do the same too! here they are!
1) working in tcc - great colleagues and the start to the countless suppers.
2) Bangkok trip - with Marie and her folks. lots of loot back and i can't wait to go again.
3) four months stint at relief teaching - days of fatigue, but days of total satisfaction on hindsight. gotten a feel of teaching, and i really wanna do it. (:
4) ULP - camp with the least hours of sleep. learnt things and i hope the cadets learnt from me too.
5) arts camp - Ricola! great peeps in arts! (:
6) odac camp - fun in the sun! great peeps met in Carebears too! i know the group name sucks. haha.
7) getting my first aid cert - survived the four long days and the exam all by myself!
8) getting into FASS - acceptance to NUS FASS, NTU HSS Psychology and NIE! decided on the place i always wanted to go to, with no regrets.
9) moving into Temasek Hall - "some call it a hostel, we call it home". a hall rich with culture and traditions. totally loving it there, complete with my wonderful Dakarai mates and neighbours in deeblock!
10) picking up soccer - my skills still suck but i will work harder! (:
11) learning hockey and touch rugby - totally fun can? (:
12) my 19th birthday - island creamery treat from the Red Cross peeps, dimsum with the girls, supper at geylang and surprise from the Dakarai mates. i'm blessed!
13) getting through my first exams in university - pretty satisfying grades. considering how busy i've been throughout the semester, what more can i ask for? (:
14) Camp Unity - days of countless shouting. madness.
15) christmas with the Red Cross peeps - good ol' fun.
that's all i think! (: a pretty fulfilling year i must say. a highly accelerated year, but with events that i must say i've grown up in it! (:
before the year ended:
met up with the cultural studies group! the one with the dynamics of two arts students, two bizad students and one science student. and my first A in the semester! (: had the long-awaited dinner at Ding Tai Feng with the fantabulous xiaolongbaos (Ellen, you can stop laughing at me!) and post-dinner drinks was at Cosmopolitan outside Wisma. it was nice meeting them again and i really enjoyed the weekly three hour lectures with their company. to think that i wanted to drop that module at the start of the semester! i'm glad for holding onto it! thanks peeps! (:
Michelle's back from London! met up with her and Weiwei over lunch at Vivocity and nice coffee! and she brought donuts back for us! love it man! (: coffee was nice with the usual chats and the sharing of funny hostel stories from NUS, NTU and London! check out the last photo in the collage! this old couple was enjoying coffee complete with the seabreeze right beside us and it was so SWEET! i wanna do this with my future husband when i get old too! if i ever get married, that is. nice new year's eve meetup with the girls! (:
spent the eve at the countdown party at FCBC with Lynn and Min Sun. an eye-opener for me as a church outside my own and it was pretty good! welcomed the new year with supper at Thomson. the hongkong cafe was so good! (:
