happy birthday Singapore!

-waves imaginary Singapore flag-

haha. i feel so patriotic today. my eyes were glued onto the television throughout! NDP has never felt the same for me since last year. yeaps. and this year's one was great! saw the Red Cross contingent! and they were pretty good! as compared to some other contingents!

Lay Joan and i wrote this totally wonderful poem! it was for the class reflections thingy. and we came up with it in like half an hour. and we're proud of it!

Singapore Rocks
Singapore, a vibrant city full of life
whose independence came in nineteen sixty five
from a rural village in the past
Singapore has progressed so fast

look up into the sky and you'll see not only clouds
but buildings with companies that make us proud
a concrete jungle to some, a shopping paradise to others
it's praised by all from children to grandmothers

no matter what colour, no matter what race
Singaporeans stay united in difficulties they face
a beautiful city that filled with grace
Singapore will always remain my special place

nice right? -beams-

slacked my day away. oh gosh. i feel guilty. i watched The Five People You Meet In Heaven, three episodes of Lost, NDP, Shooting Stars and Full Circle. Full Circle was so nice! should catch it! i feel darn guilty but i have decided to give myself a break for today. so i shall watch more episodes of Lost!

one final random thought. you know you're growing up safely in Singapore when the song "Home" has undergone so many different versions, from the slow one by Kit Chan to the hip one by JJ Lin and the latest rojak-ish one by the choir. (:
