track and field meet.
today was the day! -jumps!-
-people stares at me-
alright. it was the TRACK AND FIELD MEET! and my class girls ran the 8x50 and were in for cheerleading!
alrights. let's start with cheerleading. firstly it was like super last minute? the dance steps were done and everything, but the stunts were like way undone until Tuesday? when we had the dry run and our sequence was so bad that we just wanted to hide and say we weren't from Cougar. yeaps. so the time, or rather the lack of it, reminded us that we got to work fast and hard! so after the dry run we stayed back to practice and to fit everything into place. the girls were dancing and the guys and Mong were practising their stunts. all the way till like 8? yeaps. Shanz was with them and we sorta discovered that i could do splits and cartwheels. haha. this is so silly but yeah, i never knew that i could still do them after 6 years. anyways, so i got into the cheerleading team. lol. this sounds funny. anyways, practised awhile and we left the place at like 8 plus to go buy the spray paint and glitter and everything.
and Wednesday. which was yesterday. lol. practised all the way from the time school ended. the stunts team, namely me and Mong, had to think of new steps to fit into their dance. lol. and the very spastic us went into alot of things and we made another discovery! the 2 of us can do weird stuff with our bodies! which means we're very flexible? haha. anyways, thought of some stunts, made changes to them and practised them. until the entire team was present and we started rehearsing. it was pretty chaotic at first. we had our dance. we had our stunts. but nobody knew when to come in and when to leave. there was entirely no sequence at all. so everyone got pretty stressed up and guess there were some unhappiness? but eventually we got everything worked out and tried everything in sequence! it was okay considering the fact that we've only started like yesterday? practice makes perfect and so we did more and more and more. until it started to rain. but we did one last one in the rain! everyone was so determined and i'm so proud of them! the weather wasn't on our side so we could only practise our cheer and eventually we got chased out of school by Mr Lee. lol. and that was tiring day number two.
and today! the actual thing! the preps before that was hell. we were so disorganised and so late. the changing was a rush. and the hair spray and the glitter and everything was done in a rush! and before long, it was our turn already! 'cause we were the first house to go on! it was so scary okayy! we ran out on the track and everything started! Mrs Tan was right in front of us cheering for us! she was so cute! and yeaps. the music started! the splits, the dance, the pom-poms, the cartwheels, the formation, the canon and eventually the final formation with splits! and our cheer and bow! my goodness. it was so so so scary. but everything went well! it was a success! the video taken by Siyun shocked all of us. we improved like ALOT? seriously ALOT. and that's a happy thing!
and immediately after we ran out from the track, the 12/04 girls ran to change. it was like a race against time 'cause the 8x50 girls reported already! so we ran ran ran, got changed and ran back to the track and everyone was on the track getting ready already! and Baoling wasn't back yet! it was like a adrenaline rush before the run itself 'cause we couldn't find anyone to replace her! thank God she got back in time and the race started! so scared 'cause the cheerleading drained us of our energy and we didn't have time to eat the bananas Veron bought for us. so yeah. and we ran! we wanted to get back the medal we lost last year, so we put in all our effort. and we got the second place! -jumps!- yay! we were so so so happy can? the others at the other side ran over immediately and we hugged each other! finally! -grinns-
and for the rest of the meet, we cheered and cheered and cheered. (:
results were out and as expected, we didn't get anything for cheerleading. oh wells. but at least we all know that we've put in our very best and it really paid off! the improvement was like vast and even Georgia says our final one was good! our team rawks! Lay Joan, Ying and Veron for coordinating and working out the steps and everything. the girls Glennis, Jasmine, Wanghan, Allison, Peiwen and Veron's junior whose name i can't remember for volunteering and putting in so much effort and stayed back till so late for the past two days for this! and for putting on your very best smiles! -grinns- Allison! our final split was just in time and perfect! considering how last minute it was! and Mong! for the best stunts partner! our split was a success! lol. the guys! Damien, Daryl, Yonglim, Chris, Ben and Dehai! for agreeing to come down even though the request was last minute (like as late as yesterday morning?)! you guys are really great! Daryl! our extremely last-minute coordination was good! we actually came into the right place and did our clap before cartwheeling off! yay! and of course Siyun and Jiaxin! who stayed with us throughout the practices and being our sound crew! and Siyun for spray-painting our shirts! it's so nice okayy! when we stand in a straight line, it says Cougar complete with a picture of that big cat running. so creative! i love you guys!
yeaps yeaps. it's finally over. it was a great success! and i guess it'll be a nice part of the memories of our JC years. our ah-lian get-up, the gay ribbons on the guys' wrists, the Wu Jian Dao complete with the lao-da and his sidekicks and the blue-ribbon project. the rushing, the unhappiness, the excitement and the real thing. the ups and downs. in all, cheerleading was great!
and yeaps. our 8x50 team. Lay Joan, Ying, Veron, Siyun, Mong, Jiaxin, Baoling and Shanz. we did it! WE'VE GOTTEN IT BACK!
so today is a happy happy day. the Cougar cheerleading team was a success! and the 12/04 girls got our silver medal! -grinns-
yeaps yeaps. but i'm aching all over now. my left knee has a HUGE blue-black. think it came about from doing all the splits on the cemented floors. and it's painful! trying to rub it away but it doesn't seem to want to leave. my thighs are aching too! and my arms from the cartwheels! the entire body is aching. ):
and there's so much to do for tomorrow. here's the list:
1. study for Maths P&C test
2. study for Physics Charged Particles test
3. study for Chem pre-SPA
4. read, highlight and check the vocab of 2 articles
5. try to remember words from our vocab notebook for the vocab test!
6. GP write-up on "Bowling for Columbine"
