to the doctor's!
took a day away from school.
was feeling really sick yesterday. that nose of mine acted up again. and it chose a perfect day! the day with PE, two common tests and two meetings. yikes. till now i still stand in atonishment as to how i had survived that 12 hours in school. oh wells.
so i made a mental note to myself to take a break from school to see the doctor! for the migraine visit that i've delayed for so long. and perhaps to get the doctor to look at the weird fluctuations of my heartbeat.
but there was just so much to be done in school today! for a moment i was ready to forgo my day off. which was very sad. until my vice-pres came along! yay! so Shanz became a very naggy person who went on and on about this list of things to do in school tomorrow, which includes putting up the notice for Wednesday's meeting that no one reads anyway, to meet the teachers for the sports day duty and to look after the J1s on duty today. and he gladly agreed! yay! Benjamin you're my saviour! -grinns-
and to the doctor's! i had only planned to get decent medication for my throbbing headaches but the visit brought back far more than that. the extremely nice doctor seemed rather concerned about my migraines. like which side of my head is throbbing, if i have difficulty in hearing and such. and when i brought up my weird heartbeats, he sent me to do an ECG immediately!
okay. like you all, i had totally no idea what an ECG was. until i called Mrs Low, who's a nurse if you guys don't know, and she told me all about it. ECG is electrocardiogram in short, and it detects and diagnoses heart abnormalities by measuring electrical potentials on the body surface and generating a record of the electrical currents associated with heart muscle activity. sounds intimidating right? it was scary okay!
yeaps. back to the visit. yeaps. apparently the report showed that i have very irregular heartbeat. the doctor mentioned something about inconsistent distance between each heartbeat or something along those lines. did i mention that he talks in this funny Hokkien accent that was too hard to catch? so i could only understand like half of his words. yeaps. anyways, apparently the palpitation is quite bad 'cause he decided to refer me to a heart specialist at TTSH! and he got me an appointment like immediately?
my goodness. i'm so totally freaked out. i left the hospital with my migraine medication and an appointment with TTSH. i don't want the latter! i'm scared! ):
how how how how how.
i'm freaking myself out.
BIG meanie says i'll be fine 'cause he had a similar case but now he's okay already!
but still, i'm scared!
i need some courage. -prays-
