of it all.

first january two-thousand-and-five. a public holiday.
pelting rain. bad weather.

nothing stopped the people from streaming into the Red Cross House to donate. nothing stopped the people from calling the hotline to enquire donations. nothing stopped the Singaporeans from doing their part for the victims.

another day spent in Red Cross House. today as the Logistics In-charge. also as Cheekeong's PA. lol. basically it was like what i did yesterday except that today was much more messy. volunteers were just streaming in! the cash donation side, the Little India side and everywhere else. 92 volunteers in all. my goodness. i almost went crazy with the allocation of tags. Cheekeong and I were so busy for the entire afternoon that we took our lunch at four plus? but still, i'm glad that i could play my part. at least i'm happy to be busy. ((:

it was really heartwarming to see the public streaming in with their donations and offers to volunteer. but what was most heartwarming was the junior's enthusiasm. despite the rain, the traffic marshalls went all out to guide the traffic and receive the public. each holding an umbrella, they went the extra mile to fetch the donors from their cars or from the roads. the sight was so terribly sweet. and the others. all playing their part well and even offering to help the seniors with our work. i must say that i'm really proud of them. the youngest ones. :P i just had to chase all of them to go to sleep. they were like all chatting on MSN? so i got them to sleep by 0000 hrs today if not they won't be able to help out tomorrow. and i was going on and on about how they need to rest and all. aw. i feel so naggy. i feel so old!

one last day helping out tomorrow. gotta pass on my S4 job to somebody. two and a half days of working there. and i feel great! and i've met many great people! it's tiring, but it's nothing compared to what the victims are going through now.

and still, i'm praying for them.
