kind of tired... worn out i supposed..
could hardly get out of bed dis morning... & i actually slept at 12+ last nite... dats early for me...
i think the speech day rehearsal was tiring...
a long day in skool...
teachers were throwing us wif a truckload of homework...
maths, chinese, biology & SOCIAL STUDIES....
& my amaths stuff are due for checking!.. wad luck...
prepared to go for the AOP since the 4/4 & 4/3 students cannot make it...
but mrs rama popped in at the last minute with a piece of 'great news' - there's extra lessons for us.. coz we're SOOOOO far behind...
the lesson was alright.. but it overshot... already super tired...
but i realised something.. it's so much easier to concentrate when u're sitting in front..
during the lesson i was sitting in the 2nd row.. & i was focused on the lesson...
something to think about...
been sitting behind since sec 3.. mr guang doesnt care...
another problem on hand..
initially we had only 5 people sitting at 1 table for our prom nite..
so we kind of asked gim sheng & marcus...
they din object...
but juz now josephine & co dunno where to sit at also..
so we invited them to join us..
den we realised we've already asked marcus & gs...
hahaz... but their options are open...
so we shall see, since josephine cannot confirm if they're really goin...
& after asking around, we found out that many ppl dun wan to go...
hahaz.. den it'll be us wif ms ng kp having 'fun' rite...
saw him face to face..
haha.. went to throw rubbish & coincidentally he came out of his classroom...
guess wad i did?
i immediately turned around & walked away... without acknowledging his presence...
haiz... y am i lyk dat?
i dunno... maybe dats how i shld be if i wan to let go?
talked to him on msn... asked if he's goin to prom...
he's not confirmed..
well...
alacrity \uh-LACK-ruh-tee\, noun:
A cheerful or eager readiness or willingness, often manifested by brisk, lively action or promptness in response.
As for his homemade meatloaf sandwich with green tomato ketchup, a condiment he developed while working in New York, I devoured it with an alacrity unbecoming in someone who gets paid to taste carefully.
--R.W. Apple Jr., "Southern Tastes, Worldly Memories," New York Times, April 26, 2000
Arranged in long ranks, ten-, twelve-, or thirteen-year-old girls, pale and hollow-eyed, their pinned-back hair sprouting tendrils limp with perspiration, operated the machinery with such alacrity that arms and hands were a flying blur.
--Patricia Albers, Shadows, Fire, Snow: The Life of Tina Modotti
So, I am sure that I was thrilled when I got the letter offering me the fellowship and equally sure that I wrote back to accept with alacrity.
--Joan L. Richards, Angles of Reflection
Never was a sinking ship abandoned with such alacrity and unanimity, never was an experiment condemned so conclusively.
--Ernest Gellner, quoted in The End of Utopia, by Russell Jacoby
