saturday.

wanted to blog a long entry about the great night i had yesterday but i was simply too lazy drained to do it. another classic case of procrastination.

met up with the RC mates yesterday. no plans made ahead, so i was in my very ugly RC polo shirt and jeans. wanted to just run home and sleep after the accreditation so i purposely forgot to pack in a change of clothes. lol. anyways, it felt pretty great to see them again! dinner was at Meridien. that was pretty normal. next was to TCC! my goodness. i miss caffeine. haven't had a decent cup of it in ages. and the TCC at Centrepoint was so nice! big comfty sofa seats, nice music, classic drinks and what tops it off is great company. recipe to a great night out. sat there for like hours, chatting the night away. different generations of us. it's amazing how we all got together and clicked.

and we headed off for prata at Thomson. the Roti Prata House or something. the pretty famous one. i think it's pretty true when people say that with fame, complancency sets in. the standard of their food dropped so much can? i remember how i used to always go there after guitar lessons and with my secondary mates and we could eat so much simply cause the food was great! but now the service sucks and the kosong prata bears a striking resemblance in terms of size to that of Jalan Kayu's when their standard took a nose-dive. we need to find a new place for quality prata.

the last part of the night out was fun! chatted about the people we all know from the organisation, telling cold jokes and laughing out loud and sharing games! plus a hint of sadism in some of them.

haven't been to events for quite some time and there was this sense of detachment. but the KPO me got updated with most of the stuff that happened which cause hoo-hahs. and one major one is that of the disgustingly repulsive manager and his notice.

what's his problem? if you find us an eye-sore in your office, you can just either choose to hide in your measly corner of a cubicle or to focus your eyes on the things you need to do instead of looking at us. we have never popped into your cubicle before so i don't see why we are an eye-sore. and seriously, we don't intend to do that, not now, not in the future. it's because you're flirting with that new executive that's why you see us around. so the underline point? stopping flirting and get back to what you're being paid for. you're prolly twice her age and please look at yourself in the mirror.

if you insist of keeping us out, then carry on. we don't step inside for no reason, in case you haven't realised. we come for a purpose, to help you run your events. if you like it, just keep us out. we won't mind that. then you can jolly well handle your own events. i'm sure a doctorate holder like you will be absolutely fine in handling camps, accreditations, workshops and talentimes.

"i don't owe volunteers anything."
and yes, as suggested by our term, we volunteers don't owe you anything either. maybe a doctorate holder doesn't know the definition of "volunteer". well, we are people who "perform or offer service and help out of our free will, without being paid". and you are a member of the staff, "a personnel of a company who's paid". notice the difference?

so, you can stop scolding us and bossing us around like we're at your beck and call. or you can start asking for help for a new pool of volunteers. or perhaps, you can just get yourself out of this organisation. because in this place, we work on friendship.
